FAQ'S, the following are the most frequently asked.
Q. Where is the cottage located?
A. We are in the quaint village of Port Sandfield, situated just outside the town of Port Carling, on South Lake Joseph.
Q. How deep is the water at the shoreline and off the end of the dock?
A. This is dependent on the season. During the summer the shoreline is approximately 1.5 feet and 6 feet off the end of the dock. During the fall the water level drops by about 6 inches. The spring is high with all of the winter melt.
Q. Is the dock suitable for a boat?
A. Yes, the dock can accommodate 2 boats and 4 jet ski's
Q. Where is the closest marina?
A. The closest Marina is Port Sandfield Marina
Q. Where is the closest public boat launch?
A. The closest boat launch is in on Appian Way, see directions and a list on public boat launches here
Q. Are there towels and bed linens?
A. Clean bed linens are provided; they are folded and stacked on each of the beds. Bath towels are not provided, we there are hand towels in each of the bathrooms
Q. Does the cottage have Wi-Fi?
A. Wi-Fi is available via Bell Fibre internet. The login information will be provided prior to check-in. Wi-Fi usage is unlimited.
Q. Is there a workspace so i can work from the cottage
A. Yes, we have a desk and office chair available, You can also use the seperate bunkie space if desired
Q. White time is check-in and checkout? Can we check-in early and checkout later?
A. Check-in is at 4:00 PM and checkout is at 10:00 AM. Early check-in will depend on how quickly the cottage can be turned over; text us around 1 PM we will be happy to let you know if you can access the cottage early. Check out time is firm as we need to be able to get the cleaning completed before the next guest arrives.
Q. What kind of TV service is at the cottage?
A. The TV in the living room is hooked up to Apple TV as well as the boathouse TV. This allows tenants to access a wide variety of media. For a list of content please click here.
Q. What kind of water toys are there available to the renters? Is there a boat?
A. The cottage is stocked with two adult kayaks, two youth Kayaks, two SUP boards and several floats. We do not provide a motor boat or jet ski.
Q. Is there a fire pit?
A. Yes, recreational “campfires” are allowed, we have established a permanent fire pit area down by the water. No daytime burning is allowed. Before lighting any fire outdoors, please check with the local Municipal office at 1 877 847 1577 for fire bans, regulations, restrictions, and required permits. Fires need to be kept under control at all times, nearby trees and brush and root systems can catch on fire. Keep water nearby in case of emergency
Q. Are pets allowed?
A. Yes
Q. Does the water have weeds?
A. No, the water has sand and rock bottom, the water is very clear and you can see down to the bottom of the lake.
